2 Timothy 2:3-4 "Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier."

At Fayetteville Street Baptist Church, we believe it is necessary for youth to have a strong Biblical foundation in order to have a clear direction for their lives.

I Corinthians 10:31 says, "Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God." This verse gives us a command, and in our youth group, we strive to accomplish this through our actions, attitude, and appearance. We see the need to have clean fun, good fellowship, and a firm understanding of God's Word.

Dave Conyers

David Conyers is the Music and Youth Pastor at Fayetteville Street Baptist Church. He graduated from Ambassador Baptist College, in Lattimore, NC, with an Associated Degree in Biblical Studies and a BA in Second-Man with a Music minor. While at A.B.C., he met his wife, Carla. Since 1999, they have been serving together in churches; building up the Music ministries and Children’s ministries and also in Activities planning for those churches. They, also, are proud parents of twin sons. They are so excited to be at Fayetteville Street Baptist, and are looking forward to serving here, and also in impacting the lives of the youth of the Asheboro community as well as those in the greater Randolph county area. Come visit FSBC and see what God will do.

B.A.S.I.C. stands for “Becoming A Soldier In Christ”. This is our “basic training” course for teens. The youth will receive points each night for attendance (both to youth group and to Sunday school), bringing their Bibles, completing their weekly studies, wearing their team t-shirts, taking sermon notes, bringing visitors, memorization, and having a good attitude. Each Wednesday night at 6:30, the youth group sets aside some time for fun with friends, games, prayer, and Bible study. Come joins us. We will be recommencing with our B.A.S.I.C. Youth Group sessions on Wednesday, September 7th, starting at 6:30, in the FSBC gymnasium building.

If Wednesday night is “basic training” then Sunday school is “advanced training” with our C.O.R.P.S. class. C.O.R.P.S. stands for “Christians Opting to Regularly Pursue the Savior”. Each Sunday morning at 10:00, we take some time for prayer and to look deeper into God's Word, which allows each Christian to grow closer to Him. Come grow with us.

We try to take a Friday/Saturday evening out of each month to have some good, clean fun. We believe it is necessary to spend quality time with other Christians in order for us to grow in a spiritual direction. Even if it’s as simple as going out to eat.

Every summer we set aside a week for camp. This is a time when we go to a good, Christian Bible camp and spend the week growing closer to God and each other. It has always been a time of fun, but most importantly, a time of growth
